The Sweetest Cowboy Romance, EVER! (Review)

With her sassy humor and sexy cowboys, USA Today bestseller Carolyn Brown launches her new Longhorn Canyon series.

One city girl, one die-hard rancher, and eight mischievous kids. What could go wrong?

Every summer Cade Maguire looks forward to opening his Longhorn Canyon Ranch to underprivileged city kids. But this year, he's having no luck finding a counselor for the children-until Retta Palmer walks through his door.

Flat broke after selling everything she owns to pay her father's medical bills, Retta is thrilled to hear of an opening for a counselor position. She's not as thrilled about the ranching part, or the sexy cowboy with beautiful blue eyes who's her new boss.

After being left at the altar two years before by his fiancée, Cade isn't sure he can take another heartbreak. And Retta isn't even sure she wants to stay. But the sparks between them are absolutely undeniable. And with a couple of lovable kids and two elderly folks playing matchmaker, Cade and Retta may find that the best way to heal is with each other.

Carolyn Brown has a way of bringing out the inner romantic in readers, especially in myself. Cowboy Bold is no exception as Cade and Retta fall in love over a summer at Longhorn Canyon Ranch.

Every summer Cade invites a group of underprivileged kids to the ranch. His need to find a new counselor to lead the girls is the perfect opportunity for Retta to get her feet back on the ground. Even though her life has been put on hold due to her father's sickness and death, her determination to start over shows the strength of her character. She's a character you immediately want to find happiness and love, even if she might just have to change her plans a bit. Apparently, the new friends she makes on the ranch feel the same way as they push her and Cade together. Cade is one of the sweetest cowboys I've had the pleasure to 'meet'. Everything from his outlook on giving back to his community and the desire to help those in need, like Retta, added to the pleasure I received while reading this story! It's an amazing series starter and really sets the tone for following books.

I loved the sense of welcome found at Longhorn Canyon, especially for the kids who never had anything for themselves, or positive role models in their lives. The kids, and cuddly animals, are really involved in the story and make a great impression by the story's end. It's similar to RaeAnne Thayne's style of involving kids and puppies to keep the plot lighthearted and basically give you happy vibes!

Carolyn Brown is expert at infusing life and diversity into her characters. I've only read a few of her books, but none of them felt like a repeat of the last one I read. I certainly enjoy picking up her stories, new or old, knowing that I'm about to walk into a new town of fresh faces with quirky, down to earth personalities. There's always a touch of sweetness to her romances that I just can't get enough of and I'm so eager to venture back to Longhorn Canyon Ranch in the next one!
